Jay D. Shah, M.D., is the vice chairman of cardiology, chair of the cardiology quality control committee, medical director of The Heart Valve Center and medical director of the echocardiography laboratory. Using a wide range of diagnostic tools, Dr. Shah is able to manage and treat refractory hypertension, lipid disorders, valvular heart disease, congestive heart failure, abnormal heart rhythms, coronary artery disease, carotid artery disease and peripheral vascular disease. Dr. Shah also specializes in cardiac computed tomography (CT) and calcium scoring to help patients understand their cardiovascular risk without the need for invasive testing. In addition, Dr. Shah is particularly interested in preventive cardiology and helping patients avoid a heart problem before it occurs.
